Company: Founded in Denmark in 1971 as Hjorth’s Betonvaere Fabrik, Olsen Pavingstone Inc. is a family owned and operated company offering homeowners, builders, designers and engineers an aesthetically pleasing alternative to concrete or asphalt paving with their paving stones. The company was founded by husband and wife team Ole Hjorth-Olsen and Anni Urstad who after struggling to find pavers for their Denmark home decided to create their on by hand. What began as a back-yard project on the Olsen family farm turned into a full-time business (Hjorth’s Betonvaere Fabrik) which Ole and Anni sold in 1986 before moving to the United States with their daughter, Pernille. Olsen Pavingstone, Inc. was thus born in San Juan Capistrano, California. Over four decades later, their manufacturing facility is still located in San Juan Capistrano, now complete with thousands of square feet of installed product samples. Olsen Pavingstone remains a family owned and operated manufacturer of interlocking paving stones and continues to set industry standards for excellence in product, quality and customers service.
