Account Executive:
Qualified candidates will have a minimum two to three years of solid PR agency experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or other similar discipline. PR/Marketing experience in a variety of different sectors is preferred.
The ideal candidate for this position is confident, thorough and organized, and has implemented successful PR programs with measurable results. This person is also results-driven and has demonstrated through his or her aggressive media relations skills extensive knowledge of national broadcast, print and online media. He or she must have also had previous success in garnering superior media coverage. Additionally, strong writing and communications skills and the ability to absorb information quickly are essential.
The ideal candidate thrives in an agency, entrepreneurial, challenging, and team-oriented environment, and can easily shift focus and prioritize projects as needed. Taking initiative, being proactive and the ability to independently manage daily account activities must be second nature.
As Account Executive, you will be a part of the strategic planning process for clients to help develop successful public relations and integrated marketing campaigns and will be expected to lend your expertise to create programs that exceed clients’ expectations. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and comfortable picking up the phone to call major TV networks, top national magazines and newspapers.

RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:
* Write PR plans, proposals, media pitches, press releases, articles and other press and marketing material and engage in high-level client correspondence – strong written and verbal skills are mandatory
* Aggressively pitch business, consumer and trade media outlets
* Monitor client media coverage, industry news, trends and competitor activities
* Prepare and manage media lists and editorial calendars
* Generate client media status reports, monthly activity reports and memos
* Develop media lists, track all editorial opportunities, and assist with media pitching and follow up
* Coordinate media interviews for clients/spokespersons
* Support other staff with various projects and activities as assigned
Intern:
BERKMAN is accepting resumes for a superstar intern to start ASAP! The firm's fast-paced environment is well suited for those eager to learn and acquire new skills in public relations. Great position for students or recent graduates who want a taste of what agency life is about. Potential to hire after internship program is completed.
Applicants should possess strong writing and communication skills and be self-starters who can meet tight deadlines. Previous agency and/or office experience a plus. Intern will support account managers by writing and distributing news releases, compiling and researching editorial calendars, supporting client openings, answering telephones, assisting with clerical duties and conducting research projects for a variety clients. The position is unpaid and for three months. We are looking for a full-time commitment but we can be flexible with your schedule if necessary. Applicants must have reliable means of transportation.
